Reindigenise now

Whether you’re a First Nations migrant who became Second Nations in a new land like me, or have deeper colonial roots with settler ancestors who stole land like my husband, you and your ancestors deserve to be respectfully resettled and feel whole and healed where you are.

Why All Second Nations People Need to Reindigenise Now:

  1. The First Nations peoples where you live, and their ancestors, deserve authentic allyship from you. You can’t offer that if you’re stuck in denial or shame.
  2. Intergenerational trauma and shame need not prevent you from feeling proud of yourself and your ancestors. Shame teaches us how to be better people so we don’t repeat mistakes of the past. Live in a better way than your ancestors and let old wounds go.
  3. Intergenerational trauma is real, and everyone has it, whether First or Second Nations people. To heal, we need to decolonise enough to revive our indigenous minds.
  4. Start by embracing your innate sovereignty. In indigenous science, sovereignty comes from the ground up. You can learn to feel grounded unconditional love arising through your feet. There’s a purpose to being where you are. You are wanted.
  5. Mother Earth loves you regardless of your history and ancestry. Love her back. Take care of the land and ecosystem around you and live in reciprocity as best you can.
  6. Decolonising is taking apart and allowing what is not working to decay and die. That alone is too painful to undertake without also sowing seeds of hope and joyfully experiencing new, better ways of being rebirthing.
  7. Do grounded ceremony to enliven your spirit and re-member wholeness. We can all identify as Second Nations peoples proud to be on our own grounded healing journeys.
  8. Be a sovereign human being. Take responsibility for your life. Seek wise guidance from First and Second Nations knowledge holders, your ancestors, the land and our non-human relations, and other spiritual leaders who move your heart and soul into feeling more whole.
  9. Be where you are now. Commit fully to the best of your ability. And if you’re not meant to be there, you’ll be guided to where your gifts may be even more valued.
  10. You matter. You are an important part of the whole. Come home and feel profound belonging not just with people but with all of Creation.
  11. Your soul knows it’s possible to feel more whole and is ready to let raging grief, shame and trauma of the past go. Reindigenise now.
